MAKE YOUR VISIONS CLEAR TO US AND DON’T DECEIVE GHANAIANS – BLAKK RASTA TO DR. BAWUMIA
The decision of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to choose vice president Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia as the candidate to lead the party to the 2024 presidential election has sparked a lot of criticism. Bawumia’s close contender, Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, made it clear not long ago that the NPP would lose the election if Bawumia led the party. Entertainment radio presenter and musician Blakk Rasta has directed a series of questions to the flag bearer elect of the NPP, Dr. Bawumia, on his visions for the people of Ghana. Blakk Rasta centered on Bawumia’s comment of “listening to the people” to weigh him on the several promises he made as vice president but failed to fulfill those promises.
He made it clear that if Dr.Bawumia has the same vision as the one in line with the current government for Ghana, then he should let us know so that Ghanaians can advise themselves. Blakk Rasta disclosed that there have to be new economic innovations and ideas that can lift Ghana to its height again, and if Dr. Bawumia has anything new in his cabinet, he should make it clear for the right decision to be made. Blakk Rasta disagreed with Bawumia on his intention to do what Ghanaians want and not what he (Bawumia) wants. The radio personality made these statements on 3FM’s UrbanBlend Show, which captured the attention of Ghana Songs Graphics. “He says he will listen to the people. Have we all forgotten so soon when he went all the way to Agbobloshie and told the people, ‘I am going to make sure that you have some toilets and bathrooms? Up till now, he has even evaded the people.” Blakk Rasta continued to lament his disappointment in Dr.Bawumia, thinking that the same situation will repeat itself if Dr. Bawumia is given the mandate to govern the country. “Do we all remember when Dr. Bawumia told the whole nation that he was not in support of anything like E-levy and that when E-levy is passed, it is the poor people who are going to suffer in Ghana? Yet under his watch as vice president, it was passed, and this guy had no shame,” Blakk Rasta indicated. He went further to question Dr. Bawumia’s vision, which he gave Ghana as vice president, and try not to throw dust into people’s eyes. “Can you please tell us what vision you represented in the eight years that you were vice president? Can we know what that vision is? How far have you gone with achieving that vision? Is it digitalization? Is it a Ghana card? And if I ever meet this man again, I will tell him in the face that you are a’shameless bloke.’ How can you deceive Ghanaians all this way? My brother, my sister, you lie now, and then even children who have not been born know that this is the epitome of lies.”
